May 2018 Blog

Welcome to our school blog, here you will find a snapshot of events taking place at Legh Vale on a weekly basis from Nursery to Y6.

Week Commencing: 21st May 2018

Some very happy faces on Sports Day for KS2.

Y1/2 enjoyed making their own push up puppets as part of the topic on Victorians.

Week Commencing: 14th May 2018

Year 3 Reading Champions have made a fantastic effort this week. A huge congratulations to our winners.

RCM enjoyed celebrating the Royal Wedding. We made flags, crowns and biscuits to have at our party picnic with the whole school.

Year 3 had so much fun designing and decorating cakes for the Royal wedding celebration.

Y1RB had lots of fun celebrating the Royal wedding.

RBT have been practising writing with finger spaces.

Y5M had a debate on whether they would have eaten the apple in the Garden of Eden.

Y5H had a fantastic afternoon designing and making their own sculptures in the style of Antony Gormley.

Y1/2 share a love of books.

Nursery children had lots of fun celebrating the Royal Wedding. Our sound of the week was 'j'. We had jelly, jam and cheese sandwiches and juice.

Y1RB have been planting beanstalks. We have been measuring our beanstalks each week to see which group has the tallest beanstalk. Sammy Snakes have the tallest beanstalk measuring 48cm!

1JL have been introduced to fractions - the fun way!

Week Commencing: 7th May 2018

Year 3 have been working hard during P.E. This week they have practised running the relay race, 50m sprint and javelin.

Year 4 enjoyed learning about Fairtrade, food webs and protecting our local wildlife through the 'Fair & Funky' workshop.

Y1JL have loved their plant topic and watching their grass heads grow!

Nursery children enjoyed running races.

A superb effort this week. Well done Year 3 Reading Champions!

Y4F have adopted their very own Polar Bear!

Y5M have been learning the five ways of wellbeing. In our lesson we spent time in our garden noticing the world, took a quick run around the playground and learned how to complete the trim trail blind folded.

Y1/2 stepped back in time to play with a selection of toys from the past.
