There will be extra homework tasks set and games to play on Purple Mash.

Please ensure your child reads each day for at least five minutes and their reading records are signed each time. Ask your child questions about what they have read to check their understanding.

Books will be changed on a Monday and Thursday.

Spelling sheets are to be kept at home to allow continuous practise before and after their spelling tests.

Please ensure that all school uniform and PE kits are clearly labelled.

Pasta Salad

In English, some of the Year 1 and 2 children have written the instructions to make a pasta sald. They selected their ingredients and followed the steps to make a healthy snack. The children then enjoyed eating their delicious dish!

This week, Year 1 have been planting sunflower and bean seeds. They are going to use their scientific investigation skills to track the growth of their plants. Over the half term they will be naming the different parts of a plant and say what they need to grow well.

This week, in English, we have been looking at the story The Little Red Hen. We have learnt how to read information from the cover of a book and have written some great sentences. In the afternoons, we have loved drawing hens and learning about the lifecycle of a chicken. It has been so much fun!

Positivity is a Superpower!

Year 1 have been talking about the meaning of positivity. They have thought of different ways to be positive in a range of situations. The children used their ideas to design superheroes to fight for positivity!

Chinese New Year 2021

The Year 1 children have been learning about the traditions of Chinese New Year. They have followed instructions to make a Chinese dragon, written instructions to make a Chinese lantern and wrote their name with Chinese symbols.
