Legh Vale is proud to be an Eco School.
Eco Council
At Legh Vale, we are very proud to be recognised as a Sustainable School.
We have achieved our Bronze, Sliver and Green Flag awards and are currently applying for our Green Ambassador Award.
We have a very large and impressive Eco Council. We work hard throughout the year to develop and improve our Sustainable Schools action plan.
As a whole school, we work tirelessly all year round to maintain our school grounds and to ensure we are completely litter free.
Each year we take part in; Energy Month, Waste Week, RSPB'S Birdwatch, Helping Hands, Fairtrade Fortnight, Safer Internet Day, The Big Battery Hunt, The Great British Spring Clean, The Great Plastic Pick Up and much, much more!
We have enjoyed taking part in 'Up-cycling' workshops, where we made notebooks made from old road maps. We even held our own 'Up-cycling' competition in school, the children came up with some amazing and very creative ideas. KS1 children enjoyed their 'Water Workshop' later on in the year, they had lots of fun learning about the importance of water and how we can prevent waste.
Here at Legh Vale, we are very proud of the work we do to ensure we maintain our Green Flag status. This ethos is evident across the school and the wider community.
