Welcome to our school blog, here you will find a snapshot of events taking place at Legh Vale on a weekly basis from Nursery to Y6.

Week Commencing: 24th September 2018

Y5M have been to the outside classroom discussing what lessons they could have in there.

RJS have enjoyed using their senses on their very own Bear Hunt!

Some Year 3 children enjoyed using our fantastic outdoor space to make a compost wormery.

The year 4 children enjoyed learning their times tables in our fantastic outdoor classroom with Mrs Wright.

RNC have enjoyed using their senses on our Bear Hunt.

To finish their work on healthy humans, Y2PM investigated who had the strongest finger muscles. 

Y3K have been working on their throwing and catching skills in P.E.

Y1RB have enjoyed our new topic 'People who help us'. The children are very proud of their puppets and fact files.

Week Commencing: 17th September 2018

Y5M had a fantastic afternoon learning about the Ancient Egyptians. We had fun trying on the pharaoh costumes.

Y3K worked hard trying to identify and organise rocks into different groups.

This week in Maths, Reception children have enjoyed learning about all the numbers up to 10 and the different ways in which you can organise them!

Our 'Say NO to Plastic' campaign began this week. We've had some fantastic entries so far, like these bird feeders made from recycled plastic bottles.

Y5H had great fun playing 'Place Value Dominoes'.

Nursery children enjoyed painting the body and eight tentacles for the octopus to be displayed 'Under the Sea'.

The Eco Club enjoyed looking for frogs in our school garden. We found two and named them Steve and Fred.

Miss Drillingcourt's Maths class have been estimating the length and weight of our sunflower. What a morning it was!

A healthy humans lessons in PE allowed Y2 children to investigate different balances and the effects of exercise on their muscles and heart.

Week Commencing: 10th September 2018

Year 4 took part in a Roald Dahl Maths challenge, with Mrs Wright.

Nursery children met new friends and learned to put their wellingtons on before playing in the water. 

Y3K enjoyed finding different types of rocks around school.

Y4D SPELLING CHAMPIONS! 

Y1JL worked really hard labelling the clothes you would wear in autumn.The 

Y5M have had fun ordering 6 - digit numbers, from largest to smallest.

Y5H had a fantastic afternoon using artefacts to find out about the Ancient Egyptians. We had lots of fun trying on the pharaoh costumes.

Y6M enjoyed problem solving, showing co-operation and team work.

Y6H enjoyed reading Roald Dahl books in the woodland area to celebrate World Roald Dahl Day.

Year 2 children enjoyed outdoor activities in their orienteering session.
