Week Commencing: 26th November 2018
Y1JL absolutely loved taking part in several science experiments this week. They were great at testing whether different items were magnetic or not.
RJS have loved creating their own disgusting sandwiches after reading 'The Disgusting Sandwhich' by Gareth Edwards.
Y5 had a fantastic time at Crucial Crew. Our favourite activity was acting out a 999 telephone call.
Y3K posted their letters to Father Christmas. We really hope he gets them in time!
Y5M have been learning how to change mixed numbers into an improper fraction.
Y1RB really enjoyed the Christmas walk through at St Mark's Church.
Year 4 enjoyed their Christmas walk through at St Mark's Church.
RNC enjoyed making 'disgusting sandwiches', coming up with lots of fantastic adjectives to describe their ingredients!
Paramedics Carl and Adam visited Year 3 to teach them all about their jobs and what to do in an emergency.
Week Commencing: 19th November 2018
Well done to our Cricket Team who came second place at Sutton High Academy.
RJS have enjoyed throwing a birthday party for our class pet, Max. He went missing earlier this week so we wrote him a letter telling him all about his party, and he thankfully came back in time!
Well done to these wonderful children who always bring in their homework each and every week!
Poppy the African Pygmy Hedgehog came to visit us in Nursery.
Y3K had fun entering a computing Christmas card competition.
Y6 had a fantastic time looking at their work displayed in Christ Church, as part of the 100 year remembrance anniversary of WW1.
We are so proud of our year 5 Boccia team who came second. Well done boys!
Y5H have been creating their own 'death mask' after learning about Tutankhamun.
Nursery children walked to the post box to send their letters to Father Christmas.
Y4F have been working hard when practising their times tables.
Y5M enjoyed their Science and Geography lessons at Haydock High School.
RNC have been working really hard this week, comparing and measuring different lengths.
Y5M enjoyed creating sunset Mosque pictures.
Week Commencing: 12th November 2018
Y3K have been using oil pastels and water colours during in their art lessons.
RJS loved making spotty cakes for Children in Need!
We were delighted to show our support for the Rickshaw Challenge, for Children in Need.
Well done to the 51 athletes who represented Legh Vale at the St. Helens Sportshall Athletics Tournament. The two teams finished in 1st and 4th place in the morning heat.
Thank you to our wonderful visitors for making fruit skewers with us in Year 4.
Nursery children were excited to go on stage for the first time.
Y1RB have been reading the 'Jolly Postman' this week. They have completed lots of writing activities for different story characters. The children particularly enjoyed helping Goldilocks to plan her birthday party.
In Year 6, we investigated how light travels and how shadows are formed.
RNC did a wonderful job of cheering on Team Rickshaw and raising money for Children in Need.
Week Commencing: 5th November 2018
Nursery children have been learning about Road Safety. Stop! Look, Listen and Think.
RJS have enjoyed finding different shapes on a shape hunt around the school!
Y3K have been finding out which materials are magnetic. They really enjoyed it.
Year 6 spent a maths lesson learning about cube numbers practically.
Y1RB really enjoyed the healthy eating workshop.
KS2 had a lovely remembrance assembly on Friday. Thank you to the veterans from the Friendly Loyals who came in to show their respect too.
Y5H had a fantastic afternoon mummifying each other.
The Year 4 girls football team enjoyed an afternoon playing in a tournament at Ruskin Drive.
Y5M had a great time learning about Mummification.
