May 2019 Blog

Welcome to our school blog, here you will find a snapshot of events taking place at Legh Vale on a weekly basis from Nursery to Y6.

Week Commencing: 20th May 2019

Nursery children were very gentle as they touched the young turkeys.

RJS have worked hard this week, investigating different sea creatures and then creating their own 'Under the Sea' paintings!

Nursery children closely observed the turkeys.

RCM have enjoyed working on their understanding of 2D and 3D shapes. We talked about their properties and what everyday objects have the same shape.

Y3K had a fantastic time finding the key features of Christ Church.

Week Commencing: 13th May 2019

Even though Reception's Sports Day was postponed due to the rain, we did not let that dampen our spirits! Instead we went into the hall and did some funny races, including the 'Frog Hop'.

Year 5 learnt about Antony Gormley and created models in his style.

A huge congratulations and well done to our Year 3 children who graduated at the Park Run last weekend. We are incredibly proud of you all!

RNC have worked very hard this week, halving and sharing in Maths.  Well done!

Week Commencing: 6th May 2019

RCM learnt how to count in tens this week. They enjoyed using the blocks to make towers of 10 and then add them together.

RJS loved learning about the life cycle of a frog in Topic this week!

Y2SC fielders are all ready, but who will catch? Fun during a cricket session.

Nursery children filled a pot with compost and planted a sunflower seed.

Y2PM loved taking part in a cricket session with coach Chris.

Each Nursery child write their name on a stick for their flower to climb up.

Y1JL had a great time making fruit kebabs. They then went on to write some great instructions!

RNC loved their friends from the farm coming to visit.  We hope the chicks come back again soon!

Y1RB have really enjoyed making fruit kebabs as part of our 'Edible plants' topic
