Welcome to our school blog, here you will find a snapshot of events taking place at Legh Vale on a weekly basis from Nursery to Y6.

Week Commencing: 21st October 2019

Year 3 have absolutely loved our visit from the dinosaurs today!  Lots more pictures in the gallery of a special day we'll never forget.

The children of Legh Vale thoroughly enjoyed our visit from 'Pop Project'. See the gallery for more images and even a video!

Y2RB really enjoyed wearing their tie dye t-shirts for Decades day!

KS1 have had so much fun celebrating Decades day!

Year 1  enjoyed a visit from Year 5 who read some of their favourite books to them.

Week Commencing: 14th October 2019 

Y3NC enjoyed visiting the book fair this week.

Y5 participated in engaging workshops provided by the NSPCC. Their message was to encourage children to 'Speak Out and Stay Safe'.

Y5S enjoyed a visit to Haydock High School where they took part in a Computing workshop surrounding coding!

Year 3 have been learning all about the colour wheel. They really enjoyed mixing their own secondary colours using pastels and paints.

Y6M loved getting involved with this year's 'Innovation Challenge'. They were joined by Natalie from the St Helens Chamber and world famous 'MD Productions' to discuss new and creative ideas for their next project.

Y6A loved spending their 'Golden Time' with Reception reading them a story.

Y1JL have learnt how to relax this week and have really enjoyed taking part in a yoga session.

Week Commencing: 7th October 2019

Y5M have been discovering why the River Nile was so important to the Ancient Egyptians. They have also been creating Nile artwork using different mediums.

We have 550 stickers and counting on our ALDI'S KIT FOR SCHOOLS challenge. Thank you for your supoort, we can do this! 

Y6M learnt about the importance of one of our Legh Vale values. They improved their co-operation skills by taking part in some team activities.

Y2PM had fun making their tie-dye t-shirts, which were then hung out to dry in preparation for our decades day which will be held on Tuesday 22nd October. More photos in the gallery. 

Y6A enjoyed building electrical circuits. They predicted which voltage would create a brighter light, faster motor and louder buzzing noise and then tested our their theories.

Y1/2 really enjoyed folding and dying their decades t-shirts. More photos in the gallery. 

Two Year 5S pupils attended a workshop with author Tracy Spiers. They collaborated with pupils from other St. Helens schools to begin creating a special history book.

Week Commencing: 30th September 2019

Congratulations to our Year 6 boys who enjoyed playing football at Ruskin Drive this week.

Y5S enjoyed using Oreos to represent the moon phases in Science! 

Year 6 took a trip to Haydock Library to take part in a local history of Haydock workshop. 

Nursery children enjoyed the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. Later they explored the KS2 environment. To see more photographs look in the Gallery. 

Our new school councillors are now fully trained play leaders! The children worked with St Helens Sports Development Team and represented our school brilliantly. Watch this space to find out how they adapted to their role at play times over the coming weeks!

Y1JL have been working so hard in Maths. They have learnt about the part whole model and have used counters to find different ways of making numbers.
