June 2019 Blog

Welcome to our school blog, here you will find a snapshot of events taking place at Legh Vale on a weekly basis from Nursery to Y6.

Week Commencing: 24th June 2019

Congratulations to our Y6 Tag Rugby team, who won the Whittle Cup !

RNC have been learning all about the life cycle of a butterfly.  We are very excited to see what happens to our caterpillars!

Y5H performed our persuasive plays outside during our English lesson. They were very entertaining !

RCM enjoyed going on a 'Minibeast Hunt'. They worked with partners to explore our woodland area for the little creatures.

Week Commencing: 17th June 2019

Year 4 have been learning about the Digestive System.  They all took part in a messy investigation showing how food travels through our bodies.

RJS have been recognising, sorting and ordering coins in Maths this week!

Y5M have conducted an experiment to test air resistance. Can you guess which parachute took the longest to fall ?

Inspired by the Wright brothers, Y2 made and tested their own planes.

Who can fly their plane the furthest in y2?

Week Commencing: 10th June 2019

RCM were so excited when some baby caterpillars arrived. We talked about the lifecycle of the caterpillar and they are eager to observe how they will change and grow.

RJS have had a great week learning how to use our Bee-Bots as part of our 'Minibeast' topic!

RNC have been working very hard this week, choosing their own resources and strategies to complete subtraction calculations!

Week Commencing: 3rd June 2019

Nursery children were thrilled to have their faces painted.

RNC have been busy exploring our outdoor area, searching for different kinds of mini-beasts!

Year 5 have created their own fantastic models of British landmarks.

RJS made the most of the nice weather by going on a minibeast hunt around the school grounds! We found all sorts of insects including spiders, centipedes and earwigs.
